Rage Lobster Rigging

- The Lobster's design is our largest profile Craw specifically made for generating the most water movement and visual action ever produced from a Craw style bait. Its versatility provides the fisherman with an opportunity to attract even the most finicky fish in heavily stained waters.
- The Rage Lobster can be rigged with a variety of hook sizes and styles depending on the type of presentation you are looking for. The most popular is Texas rigged using a bullet weight from 1/8 oz to 1 oz depending on the amount of wind and water depth when fishing. A ¼ oz is a standard weight and gives maximum action on the Lobster even with this very light amount. For casting with a drag and stop, or lift and fall retrieve, an un-pegged weight is most popular. For flipping or pitching in brush or trees, a pegged weight is advised to keep the bait and weight together which helps you to better navigate the structure as well as provide a more vertical presentation.
- Using the Rage Lobster as a Jig Trailer is very popular when a much larger or longer profile is desired over the standard chunk size trailer. This can be used on the standard skirted football, flipping or casting jigs, or on a stand up jig head as well.
- Carolina rigged is also very effective using as light of a weight as necessary for the wind and depth conditions. This technique allows the bait to free swim at any and all depths which is very attractive to the fish.
- Another up and coming rig is using a keel weighted hook. This allows the bait to fall with a different profile and action and is extremely effective for finicky fish in shallow water and over grass or moss beds. Light or low wind conditions are best for this style of presentation.
- Completely weightless using an EWG hook in the sizes mentioned below, gives an excellent top water presentation that allows an enticing fluttering, flapping top action and lets the bait slowly fall in the grass pockets when needed.
- Any of the popular hook designs are effective with the Lobster which includes Standard offset worm hook and EWG hook. Preferred sizes are 4/0 to 6/0 in each.

Rage Tail Designer
Hooked On Heavyweight Bass
Rage Tail designer, Steve Parks, hooked
into these heavyweights while testing the
Next Generation designs on Falcon Lake in
Zapata, TX this past June. His comments
were simply, "Wow! The fish were active
and I found several areas that were holding
some nice size fish. When they were in the
brush, I was flippin' either a Rage Lobster or
a Space Monkey in a variety of colors and
the fish just couldn't leave 'em alone. The
color didn't seem to matter but the action
and larger profile of these new designs
seemed to be the ticket."
He also found fish holding on deeper
structure and ledges in 20ft+ and used
both the Rage Lizard (Carolina-rigged) and
the Anaconda (TX and Carolina-rigged) to
"work 'em over". With the Lizard, the fish
would just load up and swim away with it,
but on the Anaconda many of the hits were
like the fish were mad at it. "My favorite
kind of hit", he added. |
